A Must-Listen Podcast for Event Professionals

A Must-Listen Podcast for Event Professionals

So I’ll admit, I go through cycles with podcasts. I get super into them and listen every time I’m in my car, then i’ll go weeks (or even months) with only music. When I do get back to listening to my favorites, I always get so inspired and motivated, I kick myself for taking a break.

All that to say, The Wedding Biz is the ONE podcast I cannot get enough of. Whether you are in the wedding business or other areas of the event field, this is a must-listen for a few reasons:

Reason 1

Host Andy Kushner of Kushner Entertainment gets in front of the best in the business (across weddings and corporate events) and asks the questions we ALL want to know. It’s not just about “Where do you get your inspiration?” but also things like:
  • How do you handle pricing?
  • What are the client relations processes you felt have worked best for you and WHY?
  • How do you avoid getting caught up in the comparison game?
  • How do you handle conflicts with clients or, worse yet, firing a client?

And the subjects answer not with a high-level answer, but with tactics you can actually EMPLOY!

Reason 2

The interview subjects are always so amusing! And they are open about both the trends they see in the industry, and how they BUILT THEIR BUSINESS.

On those rough days when entrepreneurship can get the best of you, hearing from Colin Cowie about what its taken for him to get to the stature he is now, is both reassuring and inspiring. Reassuring because he’ll be the first to say “it didn’t happen overnight,” which is something we can all too often forget when we’re in the thick of building (or scaling) a business and our behind-the-scenes doesn’t equate to the highlight reel we see of others.

Reason 3

I guarantee you’ll learn AT LEAST one thing you didn’t know from each episode, or be challenged to think about your own business, events and client relations in a new way.

No matter how long you’ve been in your business, no matter how good you are at what you do, the only way to continue to be good and continue to grow is to NEVER STOP LEARNING.

So now go forth and start listening
